PJ is celebrating his 4th birthday tomorrow with a pool party and I had to use the brand new "Animal Story" set from SU! (available July 1) to make his birthday card. This card is all about layers.
Background paper: Ballet Blue
The whales are stamped with Ballet Blue on Whisper White and cut out.
The blue strip in front of the wales is Brilliant Blue card stock.
The sand dunes are torn from one of the Earth color browns (I don't know all those colors by name, I just picked one) and I sponged the edges with Bravo Burgundy.
I stamped the elephant in Brilliant Blue on Whisper White and cut him out. I could have used a lighter blue or grey to add more interest since he is the same color of the background. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach him to the sand dunes.
The "spewing water" effect was done by using SU!'s Color Spritzer Tool (
http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=107066) with the Navy marker. I also used that marker to draw the seagulls in the background.
The greeting is stamped in Brilliant Blue.
Of course, I had to add wiggly eyes. Those are every kid's favorite.
Happy Stamping! Tanja
