Fishy Monday!

Today is one of those Mondays where nothing wants to go as planned, so I am taking a break from my to do list and having a little fun by showing off this cute notebook that I made last week. I was looking for a thank you gift for a man and that automatically eliminates some of my stamps of choice because they are either too girly (like the bra with the greeting "thanks for your support) or too flowery. As I was looking at my stamp sets, I grabbed an old favorite. This fish always hits the spot. I stamped the fish on water color paper with Staz-On ink. Normally, I always reach for my Stampin' Pastels and the blender pens. This time, I wanted the colors to pop out stronger than they do with the pastels and blender pens. My Mom loves to water color (she does beautiful paintings) and as I was contemplating how much I wished I had an Aqua-painter, I took one my paint brushes and a glass of water and dipped my wet brush into the ink in the lids of some bold stamp pads. Wow!!!! It was beautiful. I couldn't contain myself and just colored away!!! Instead of using ribbon for an extra touch to this notebook, I sewed the water color paper to the card stock. A little adhesive and all the paper layers were nicely glued together. What a great gift!!!
The colors are as follows:
Paper: Night of Navy, Only Orange, Brilliant Blue
Classic Ink pads: Only Orange, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Green Gallore, Apricot Appeal, Taken with Teal.
Don't have too much fun stamping without me. Tanja
