Silly pictures wanted!!

Are you ready to scrapbook your summer pictures? How about this cute layout for all the goofy pictures where the kiddos pose just the way you don't want them to: tongues sticking out, silly eyes, messy hair ...
Background
  • So Saffron 12x12
  • DSP: Lap of Luxury, cut to two 8 by 8 inch squares. The corner accents are 2 by 2 inch squares cut in half.

Text

  • Alphabet Stamp Set: Schoolbook Serif Alphabet
  • Stamp Set: Make a Monster
  • Classic Stamp Pad: Elegant Egglplant, Basic Black
  • Markers: Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzaz

Spunky Tips

  • I wiped the top of the "i" clean before stamping it so that I could then add one of the eyes from the "Make a Monster" set on top of the "i" for the i-ball.
  • Suggested picture sizes are 4 by 4 inch for the left page and two 3 by 3 inch and a 4 by 6 inch piece on the right. I substituted a journaling square in a small spot on the right.

Enjoy!

Meet my Scrapbook Club!

Meet my fabulous scrapbookers!

We meet once a month on Tuesday mornings and have a GREAT time creating two two-page layouts.
When we started, each one of us picked a set of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and then I picked out all the matching paper, ribbon and other accessories. Does that make scrapbooking easy?
From the left:
Lindsey, Beth, Mona, Joyce
and on the other side of the table are
Kimberly and Cheryl. The only one missing is Audrey. She moved to Texas and we'll be finishing her pages for her. So, she is still a member of our gang.

This is one of the two layouts we made this week.
My DSP is Kaleidsocope and I matched it with Rich Razzleberry CS. What really pops up the pages is the White Gel Pen we used for the "stitching effect."

Cheryl also uses Kaleidoscope and mixed it with Green Galore and Ballet Blue. Aren't her flowers great where she used Night of Navy card stock with the Green Galore.

Joyce picked Cottage Wall and her additional colors are Rich Razzleberry, Lavender Lace and Always Artichoke.

Kimberly is the third in the group to use Kaleidoscope DSP and her other colors are Appricot Appeal (I will so miss this color), Gable Green and Pixie Pink. She spaced the pictures on the right side a bit differently to show off the beautiful peacock in the DSP.

Lindsey uses "To the Nines" DSP with Chocolate Chip and Natural Ivory card stock. Lindsey chose to not do the two page spread but she did the left side twice to use as the first page in the scrapbooks for each of her boys.

Mona uses Nouveau Chic DSP which combines beautifully with Appricot Appeal and Basic Black. The White Gel Pen looks particularly good on the black!!! It really makes the page.
And Beth, she uses Autumn Traditions DSP and I am not sure why I don't have a picture of her page. I was sure that I had taken one but I must not have. Sorry, Beth!

Christmas Gift Ideas: Make a Calendar

I ordered my first SU! calendar several months ago in the spirit of starting my Christmas gifts earlier this year than I did last year. Well, here it is October and I am only now starting it. Of course, I started with October because I have this adorable picture of my girls from last Saturday when we went "trunk and treating" in the church parking lot.
~
I have a friend who raves about this SU! calendar and now I can testify to it myself. The calendar comes with layout instructions that show exactly what page to use for which month which takes all the guesswork out of it. I have done lots of calendars in years past but this is my favorite. It stands up on the desk all alone AND when the year is over, you can put the pages in a 6 inch by 6 inch scrapbook to marvel at the year in review. For each month, I choose a picture taken in that month. Next October as the girls get ready for trick and treating, we'll be looking at the costumes they wore this year. My favorite are the birthday months. I always include the birthday girl.
As you can tell, the girls were dressed up as Tinker Bell and a Snow Princess. So for my page, I chose an orange piece of DP from the Rich Razzleberry Lemonade set and I stamped it with Champagne Mist shimmer paint. You can see them pretty easily in this close up. The real thing looks much better. What I LOVE about this page is that I stamped Upsy Daisy flowers on the bottom and Snowflakes (Berry Christmas set) at the top of the page. Just magical. But so are my girls.

Don't have too much fun stamping without me!

Saturday - How about this cute scrapbook page?

It is time to show a scrapbook page for a change and I pulled out my favorite for you. It is actually my very first scrapbook page that I made for myself. Thanks to moving 10 times in 16 years, we got rid of all of our photo albums and converted to digital picture storage. Well, now we are settling down and it is a joy to plant flowers, shrubs and trees and it is wonderful to see them grow. I absolutely love my garden. I am also falling in love with scrapbooking. I love putting up my scrapbook knowing that we won't pack up to move anytime soon. This page is VERY special to me. It shows pictures from our family reunion in March. The 3-D pop up ball gives the page the WOW effect that this family memory deserves. I actually designed this layout for a class earlier this year. If you are interested in scrapbooking classes or a club that meets monthly, contact me at tanja@spunkycards.com or leave a comment with this post. I'd love to see you at my events. Tanja Supplies for this page: Big Shot, 3-D Pop Up Ball Die Cut, card stock and ink (Barely Banana & Rose Red). The stamp sets have retired. Sorry.
